Step 1: Find your band size
Standing in front of a mirror, wrap the tape measure snugly around your chest, just under or at the crease beneath your breasts and flush against your back. Check in the mirror to make sure the tape measure is parallel to the floor and flat across your back. You may need a friend or partner to help. Record this measurement in inches and write it down. Now you’ll need to do some basic math to find your proper band size.

If the number is even, add 4 to get your Band Size If the number is odd, add 5 to get your Band Size

Example: If you wrote down 32, add 4 and your band size will be 36.

Step 2: Find your cup size
Now, standing in front of the mirror as before, wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your breasts (at the nipple). The tape measure should be straight, parallel to the floor and flat across your back. Record this measurement in inches and write it down. Take this number and subtract your Band Size measurement from it. The difference will tell you what your cup size is, based on the following chart.

Example: If your Band measurement is 38, and your new measurement, from the fullest part of your breast is 35, the difference is 3, and your cup size is “C”.

That’s it! Your band size, along with the cup size determined from the chart is your new bra size. Based on the example above, if your band measurement was 38 and your cup measurement was 35 – you would be a 38 C.

Women Shapewear Size

Women Shapewear Size

To measure properly for Shapewear, you’ll need 3 basic measurements: waist, hips and panty size. Shapewear varies in control levels, all the way from “light control” to “extra firm control”. Regardless of your control preference, you’ll need to find your proper size to get just the right fit. Shapewear that is properly sized, creates smooth lines and a more toned appearance under clothes of all types, so get a pencil and your soft measure to find the right size for you. You may want to stand in front of a mirror to make sure the tape measure stays straight.

Step 1: Measuring your waist
Wrap the tape measure snugly, but without cinching, around the natural indentation or break at your waist. If you can’t find this curve, bend to the side and the crease will show you where to measure. This is your waist measurement. Write it down, you’ll need it in a moment.

Step 2: Measure your hips
Wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your hips. Use the mirror to make sure the tape measure is straight completely around. The tape measure should be snug and parallel to the floor. Write this down as well.

FreshPair – National Underwear Day

National Underwear Day

National Underwear DayIn 2003 the FreshPair.com team began collecting signatures to petition for an official day of appreciation for what lies beneath. Freshpair Chief Operating Officer, Michael Kleinmann, believes that “underwear should no longer be merely the first thing you put on and the last thing you take off, but the most important thing you wear all day.” Following that credo, National Underwear Day was created as a time for everyone to feel comfortable mentioning “unmentionables,” and celebrating skivvies.

National Underwear DayFrom Marlon Brando rending his undershirt in Streetcar, to the sexual revolution, to Helmut Newton’s lingerie-clad vamps, underwear has come a long way from being coyly referred to as “unmentionables” in American culture. A watershed event was the unveiling of Calvin Klein’s giant underwear billboard ads in Times Square in the Eighties – a statement of unflinching exposure that almost single-handedly transformed the public’s perception of underwear from ‘necessary undergarment’ to a brazen gesture of style and freedom.

National Underwear DayIn this spirit – and in the spirit of many underwear brand images today – we at Freshpair decided to launch National Underwear Day. Founded in August 2003, National Underwear Day is an event that evokes the care-free attitude of Sixties ‘happenings’, when free spirits took control of public spaces as venues for their art, their message. Our message at Freshpair is the belief that underwear deserves a lot more recognition than it gets. Americans spend more than $13 billion on intimate apparel each year and for that kind of money, we feel it is our duty to tell the world. With National Underwear Day, we’ve taken underwear out of the dresser drawer and into the streets – by sending twenty male and female models out clad only in our finest undergarments.

National Underwear DayIn the heat of Manhattan summer, our underwear ambassadors wander through heavily-trafficked locales such as Times Square and Penn Station, modeling some of today’s hottest brands for unsuspecting – yet pleasantly surprised – shoppers, tourists and die-hard New Yorkers who think they’ve ’seen it all’…until now. More than just eye candy, our models conducted various surveys on undergarment choices and asked people to sign a petition which urges official recognition of this underwear-honoring day.

This year, on August 10th, we did it again. The response was overwhelmingly positive and tens of thousands of people joined in the celebration across the country. National Underwear Day is the day when underwear becomes not just the first thing you put on and the last thing you take off, but the most important thing you wear all day.

So, make sure you’re wearing a fresh pair.
